Samira Prentice: "Love Is All We Need" (Feature/Interview)
What is the most important thing you want your fans to know about you?
My greatest joy is to do my utmost to contribute a degree of positivity to a world that is clearly aching for repair. I endeavour to do this through the songs that I write. Genuineness, honesty and integrity with a generous helping of good humour are all characteristics that makes me who I am as a person. I strive, in my own musically creative way, to reawaken a sense of self-worth, compassion and love in others.
What is your recording process like for this song?
“Love Is All We Need” the real incentive was to broadly focus attention, as much as possible on an entirely non-disruptive truth, that LOVE, if wholeheartedly practiced globally, is the undeniable cure-all for our world. After writing “Love Is All We Need” I had a great deal of help from the brilliant Roy Hamilton III, based in Toronto. My vocals and the instrumentation were all recorded separately with the final mix being mastered by Roy Hamilton III and 'The Singer's Company'.
What do you want your audience to feel when they listen to your music?
It is always my hope that with my songs, I can encourage audiences to give pause to the realisation that we are all of equal importance, one to the other. That all have a renewed sense of belonging to a species capable of sharing, caring and being gentle. I wish for the audience to hear my musical messages and feel an inner warmth of hope.
How would you describe your genre and sound?
There's no question that music is one of the most meaningful healing medicines available to people everywhere. I want the audience to absorb each message as it is being served on a melodious platter. I think I would describe my music genre as Contemporary Pop.
What are your goals and aspirations for 2023?
As 2023 gradually draws to a close I would very much like to expand my horizons in entertainment with live performances, recording opportunities media exposures aimed at providing me with even greater ability to pour my energies into future 2024 challenges. I am energetic and resourceful with a burning desire to entertain professionally in such a way as to give joy, encouragement and love to the world. That is my ultimate goal and there is no greater.
