Carley Lusk: "Let The Beauty Be" (Exclusive Interview)
How did you come up with your single?
-While writing lyrics, I almost never think up a concept, the story usually comes out naturally. I write off my emotions and subconscious thoughts, and end up learning a lot about myself! "Let The Beauty Be" was written from experience. When in the eye of the public, the way I perceive myself and my beauty is often tainted . My confidence turns to shame in circumstances where beauty is not admired, but sexualized. This makes me uncomfortable, and I wanted to find a way to say it while offering love and protection to any one else who feels the same way. I think music is very powerful and spiritual , what you say is important.
How are you managing to stay inspired with all the changes happening in the world right now?
Changes are inspiration. Life is nothing without changes and any hard times you may cross, only make you stronger and wiser. It is really hard to think that way when all you see is darkness, but my faith has guided me to trust the world and all its changes. Also great friends and California beaches.
Do you enjoy performing online for your fans and supporters?
I love performing live, and I miss it like crazy! I have actually performed virtually only once, I am spending my time and focus on writing and recording, but can't wait to get back out on the stage.
What can we expect from you in 2021?
More music! My goal is to be signed and to tour within the next three years. I will keep producing music and improving my craft until then, and always sharing
music. I am working on an E.P currently, the title is unknown!
