Robbie Finnegan: "Alone" (WORLD PREMIERE)
When did you first realize your ability to sing?
I was about 5 or 6 when I started singing. I remember my Mom getting me a karaoke machine for Christmas and it started from there. My family got so sick of me in the house because I would never stop singing, haha!
What is your music and message all about?
My music is definitely experimental, I want to be honest and authentic when someone listens to my music. I want people to relate to the lyrics and hope that it can inspire others. The message I want to get across is to be true to yourself because you only live once, so we need to make the most of it.
How would you describe your vocal style?
My vocal style has elements of jazz and soul. I am heavily influenced by Motown/Soul music and although my sound is Pop/R&B. I always try to add those elements to my music.
What was the hardest part of making this song?
“Alone” came together really easily, I remember waking up one morning with the melody stuck in my head so I recorded it on my phone. I was going into the studio the next day and when I walked in, Roy was playing some keys and ‘Alone” was made 2 hours later! This was probably one of the easiest tracks I have ever recorded.
What was the most enjoyable part of making this song?
Writing sessions are always my favourite, I love coming up with melodies so that was definitely my favourite part.
