Capable: "Capable" (Exclusive Interview)
What is the most important thing you want your fans to know about you?
I would like for them to know about my resilience, just like every other person I have a lot of downfalls , failures and things that I might not be proud of but I never allow those things to slow me down in fact I use them to push me to do even better and this is what makes song writing fun for me because instead of crying I put that emotion into my songs and once I'm done writing that song ,I feel stronger and less overwhelmed it's almost a form of therapy. I could say the same when it comes to dancing. When I'm upset about something I will go dance and in return I come up with more choreography.
What is your recording process like for this song?
So I had to re-write the song three times because I first wrote it when I was 12 years old then I rewrote it again when I was about 16 or 17 years old cause I wanted to update the lyrics and change certain parts of the song and then I had to rewrite it again when I got the instrumental.
What do you want your audience to feel when they listen to your music?
Uhh, I love this question well ,when I'm writing a song I don't really think about myself I think about the person who is going to be listening to the song and how they might be going through something traumatic in their life. When I write a song I act as if I'm writing a letter to the listener telling them that I understand their pain and letting them know that they just have to pull through . I feel that it is very important for me to make the listener be the number one priority when it comes to my songwriting , I mean yes I will write about the personal things that I've been through myself , to let the listener know that they are not alone.
How would you describe your genre and sound?
My genre is Pop but I love to integrate R&B as well as a little bit of rap. I LOVE writing and singing upbeat songs that you can dance too because I love to do both singing and dancing.
What are your goals and aspirations for 2023?
My goal for this year is to possibly release another single later on in the year as well as to be kinder and at peace with myself but most importantly I want to learn something new.
