Michelle Rose: 'Set Me Free' (Exclusive Interview)

When did you first realize your ability to sing?

The first time I realized I wanted to sign was when I was approximately 13 years old. I moved a lot as a young girl and didn't have a ton of friends so I asked my mom fr singing lessons and that's where it all started.

What is your music and message all about?

My music is about me. It's about my personal experiences. It's about heartbreak and pain but also about getting stronger with every step you take in life.  

How would you describe your vocal style? 

My vocal style is very pop and R&B. 

What was the hardest part of making this song?

Honestly, I think every song has its challenges. Since this is my first release, this one's challenge was not being worried about what people will think when it comes out. That is a big challenge for me but I'm going for it.

What was the most enjoyable part of making this song? 

Everything. I love making music. It was such a fun experience. The people I worked with along the way made this such an unforgettable experience.

What is one feeling you want to leave listeners with?

Be your uniqueness! And honestly don't worry about what people think. 

How do you prepare for your live performances? 

Get lots of sleep the night before, stay hydrated. Do something that makes me happy that day and go out knowing I'm doing my passion.
