Aura Dawn: "Feeling Whole In My Body" (Exclusive Interview)

What is the most important thing you want your fans to know about you?

The most important thing I want my fans to know is that everything I create comes from a place of honesty and real emotion. My music is a reflection of my own journey—full of highs, lows, self-discovery, and growth. I want them to know that I'm here not just to entertain, but to connect on a deeper level, sharing experiences and emotions we can all relate to. I hope that through my music, they feel inspired to embrace their own stories and feel seen, understood, and empowered. At the end of the day, I want them to know that I’m right there with them, learning and growing, one song at a time.

What is your recording process like for this song?

Recording this song was an incredible experience, especially because I had the chance to visit the Singer’s Company in Toronto and connect in person with my amazing producer, Roy Hamilton III. We spent a lot of time searching for just the right sound, experimenting with different elements until everything felt exactly right. It was a unique process that brought a new level of energy and collaboration to the project. All that effort to refine the sound was so worth it, and I believe it came out perfectly, adding a deep layer of authenticity and connection to the music.

What do you want your audience to feel when they listen to your music?

When people listen to my music, I want them to feel seen, understood, and empowered.  With “Feeling Whole in My Body,” for example, I wanted to capture the warmth and strength of self-acceptance. I hope listeners connect with that feeling of completeness and embrace who they are, flaws and all. Every note and lyric is crafted to be real and relatable, so when they hear it, they feel uplifted, inspired, and part of something bigger. At the end of the day, my goal is to create a space through music where people can reflect on their own journeys and feel empowered to live authentically.

How would you describe your genre and sound?

My music blends pop with a variety of influences to create something fresh and unique. "Show Me Some Love" combines pop elements with reggae, offering a relaxed, easy-going vibe while telling a story about the search for love. It’s all about keeping things light and open. On the other hand, "Feeling Whole In My Body" carries a more festive, upbeat energy, with a big, bold arrangement that celebrates self-acceptance and life itself. The track feels joyful and danceable, inviting listeners to embrace who they are and move with the music. Overall, my sound mixes emotional depth with vibrant rhythms, creating an atmosphere of both introspection and celebration.

What are your goals and aspirations for 2024?

As 2024 comes to a close, I’m incredibly grateful for everything the year has brought me and I want to finish it as strongly as it has unfolded. I feel like I’ve grown so much this year, both personally and musically, and I’m excited to continue that momentum into the new year. Looking ahead to 2025, my biggest goal is to connect with as many people as possible through my music. I’m really looking forward to performing live and sharing that special energy with audiences, whether it's through intimate shows or larger performances. I want to bring people together, make memories, and create a space where they can feel seen and understood through my songs. Ultimately, my aspiration is to continue growing as an artist and as a person, while building a lasting connection with my fans worldwide.
