Anat Kriger: "I Just Wanna Love You" (Exclusive Interview)
How did you start your professional recording career?
I moved to Canada to become a performer. I went to a theatre school, and about a year after graduating I realized I wanted to create something of my own, which led me into creating original music.
How did you come up with your single and/or EP?
This is the first song I ever wrote. It almost feels like the song came to me. I was at the beginning of a new relationship and started falling in love. I went for a walk with my dog, and I felt like I could hear all my feelings singing in my head. I started recording those little bits and eventually, I ended up with a song!
What is your favorite part of the songwriting process?
To be honest, I’m still in the phase of exploring this process and understanding how it works. But so far, it almost feels like magic. I used to think I would never be able to write or compose a song, but all of a sudden it feels like something unlocked within me.
What is your routine and regime for your vocal health?
Coming out of a theatre school, I am doing my best to keep a healthy vocal routine- daily warm-ups, steaming, and drinking lots of water!
What can we expect from you in 2022 and beyond?
I’m currently working on my first solo show which I’m very excited about! Right after that I already planned to start working on my next single.
