Isadore: "Hold Up" (Feature/Interview)
How'd you come up with your stage name?
It's inspired by my maternal grandmother's maiden name.
Where are you from?
Toronto
How did you get your start in music?
I started searching out recording studios near me because I decided I wanted to pursue music professionally. Found one nearby that had literally just started business and the rest is history.
Is music a big part of your family? Not really.
What artists and songs did you grow up listening to?
I grew up listening to what my family listened to, for ex. calypso, soca, reggae, country, soft rock, rnb, pop, alt music, etc. I didn't really didn't develop my own musical taste until much later.
Tell us about your first single! How did you come up with it?
My first single was a song called August that I wrote one day during the summer as a sort of birthday present for myself. I like to say it's an ode to the struggles of poor mental health.
What is the biggest message you want to bring to your audience?
To pursue your dreams, take advantage of your talents, take care of yourself, and to live in the moment. Life is busy and confusing but most of all it's fast, so take a chance on yourself.
What has been the most challenging part of your music journey?
For me it's been maintaining consistency on social media and intense writer's block.
Any good vocal health tips you can share?
Do your vocal warm ups, do your rehearsals, and drink tea.
What are your goals for the future?
Write and release more music but also have music be something I can focus on full time.
