Aieysha Haws: "Turmoil" (Exclusive Interview)
What inspires your music?
Introspection, emotional intelligence, and curiosity.
How did you start your professional recording career?
When I was twelve, I had fun self-recording with a dollar store PC microphone and headphones. It gave me an idea of what I’d sound like, while I acted as though I was in the studio (in my room). I realized how powerful my imagination is, without any of the pristine gear. Though, recording is just one aspect of my art; I’m multifaceted. I also love learning, I love sharing what I’ve learned with others.
How did you come up with your single?
Initially, I wrote ‘Turmoil’ during a time when I was doing a lot of soul-searching, questioning why I always persevere? Self-awareness led to the courage to release it, the melody came from singing in the shower. Turmoil is a human experience, it ignites an empowering head-to-heart conversation.
What is your genre of music?
RNB/Hip Hop-Soul Fusion.
Who are your influences?
My passion. Purpose. People. I fell in love with music, listening to Patti LaBelle and Tina Turner, powerful advocates for themselves and others, they’re among inspirations for my self-expression, as well, myself - past, present, and future. In my music, people can be seen, heard, feel and continue to grow #WiseEyes.
How do you define success?
The past and present with compliments to the future.
What can we expect from you in 2022?
More life. Learning and growing philosophies.
