LISV: 'Rien' (Exclusive Interview)
What inspires your music?
My experience, life, nature, space, simple things, my surroundings, books, a face, a word, coffee smell... I find inspiration everywhere ! Melancholy and Love are my main inspirations.
How did you start your professional recording career?
I come from an artistic family. Music has always been part of my life. But I am also a discreet and shy person. Music appeared to me as a way to express myself, a refuge that consoles me and comforts me when I need it. This is why I share my music, so that other people can feel comforted or simply accompanied in their moments of life with my music.
How did you come up with your single and/or EP?
I decided to start a music career thanks to the many positive feedback I received on social networks. I wrote this first single two years ago, it is one of my most personal songs. So I wanted to start particularly with this one in order to let people discover my universe.
What is your genre of music?
I don't like to be "categorized" and I like to "go where my heart takes me" but I can also understand the need to fit into a box to help an unknown audience to define us more easily. So, I would say that I'm more into a pop style, French variety. I am also often compared to the artist Indila, Zaho or Pomme for the melancholic style and the sweetness that I offer.
Who are your influences?
Lana Del rey, Nirvana, Jean Jacques Goldman, Hans Zimmer, Gwo ka, Rosalía, Indila, Bryan Adams, Sleeping at last, Timbaland, Eminem, Dido… I love and listen to everything ! I have a multiple musical influence I think partly thanks to my family but also my Guadeloupean, Caribbean origins.
How do you define success?
For me, success is being proud of the work you do and being happy with the results of your efforts. It's succeeding in achieving the goals you thought were unattainable, even if they are "small successes", insignificant details for some people, what matters is the value you put on them.
What can we expect from you in 2023 and beyond?
We can first listen to my very first single "Rien" which will be available on February 03 on all streaming platforms (aaah it feels weird even to say it). There will also be a music video that will be released the same day at noon on YouTube. For the record, I was extremely cold to shoot these images so I really hope you like it !There will also be other songs to come after this first single but I won't say more. Let's already savor this first one which will be released very soon! I can't wait to share all of this with you!
