Crystoria: 'Beautiful Storm' (Exclusive Interview)
What is the most important thing you want your fans to know about you?
I desire to be authentic when it comes to my writing and style. As a Christian artist I believe that God gives us each gifts, talents, and passions for a reason. The song placed in my spirit throughout my walk in life is there for a reason. The unique melodies and desires to use chords not normally used in the average song, is there to spark a new song for people to be blessed by. I love to worship, but worship is not my genre, and I love embracing the hard times in life to help others know they are not alone, as the topic of mental health is one that is close to home for me. You will discover both throughout my music, especially as I press forward into new projects for 2023.
What is your recording process like for this song?
I have worked with a variety of producers over the years. I tend to lean towards recording virtually and recording my vocals at home.
What do you want your audience to feel when they listen to your music?
I want my audience to know they are heard, they are seen, they are not alone no matter their circumstances, and even in the rough we can cry out to God and find a piece of hope that places a desire to worship.
How would you describe your genre and sound?
My sound has changed over time, I grew up singing country, and embraced the pop and ccm genre the last two years. As I press forward in 2023 I am. going forward to being my. most authentic self allowing God to pour the melodies which tend to lean towards Christian Alternative/Rock with a hint of twang from my past LOL
What are your goals and aspirations for 2023?
After a very hard year in 2022 due to personal circumstances I am pressing forward into 2023 with a different perspective than I have had in the past. My goals are to be everything God is asking of me. Laying down the fears, the doubts, the hesitancy, and pressing forward into writing in more cowrites, releasing my first several singles in the alternative realm and begin to use the platform God has given me in the way he intended to lift others up and encourage. I have a heart for public speaking that I pray one day I can use along side with my music.
