Sadaeya: "Guilty" (Feature/Interview)

Sadaeya: "Guilty" (Feature/Interview)

When did you first realize your ability to sing?

I first realized my ability to sing in 2006, for my 7th Birthday party.  I planned to do and be the host of a talent show at my home where I performed Alicia Keys - No One and my family and friends was extremely supportive and happy in listening to me sing. Additionally, I realized my ability to sing whenever I went to my neighbor's house and put on a mini-concert for her and her children.

What is your music and message all about?

My music is about my life experiences and how I felt and reacted in certain situations. My message is to help individuals not feel alone as well as make it easy for them to relate so they can understand we are all human and we all do make mistakes. Additionally, we all have emotions that we may not know how to control and that we can learn from it and also and help others overcome their struggles.

How would you describe your vocal style?

I would describe my vocal style as versatile because I use different styles to convey and to invoke different emotions.

What was the hardest part of making this song?

The hardest part of making this song or any song is when I sometimes cannot write what I really feel into words because of how strong the emotion is and it is difficult for me to emote a situation lyrically that I have not fully dissected and healed from.

What was the most enjoyable part of making this song?

The most enjoyable part of making this song was when I realized and understood that music is extremely spiritual. I say this because “Guilty” was not about me being Guilty, it was my spiritual realm confirming everything I was ignoring from my consistent gut feelings.

What is one feeling you want to leave listeners with?

The feeling I want to leave my listeners with is relieved. I want them to feel understood and like someone finally gets them.

How do you prepare for your live performances?

I prepare for my live performances by performing in front of my mirror, performing in my living room to the chair set, running over stage greetings, and by praying.
